Insanity is just a state of mind!
It's 4:00 PM here (1600 for my military bretheren). Sergeant mom has been up since 3:00 AM to line up outside the stores. On Black Friday no less. It's 14 degrees outside! What could possibly be worth all that self infflicted aggravation? I'm beginning to suspect we refinanced the house not for a lower interest rate, but to finance Christmas! I think I'll be afraid, very afraid.

I wonder what she got me?

Ok, now I am afraid. I was bribed! When she finally returned home about an hour ago, she asked me to help unload. It was obvious by the size of the load that she was using the side mirrors to back up.! As I silently hefted packages and bags from outside to inside, she handed me a bag (why do they always do that when you're standing there about to fall over from the load you're carrying?).
She had picked up a replacement 200 GB hard drive for my PC., and a spindle of DVD-Rs as well. (Note to self, next time point out the picture of the 400 GB model when complaining!)
I'm the family tech head, and as such am usually subjected to a ritual inquisition when purchasing anything for my PC. (I guess 6 networked PCs was a little over the top.) So a "tech" purchase by my significant other is, well, significant. I got the message. I was not to question what she had purchased, since I had my before Christmas toy to fiddle with. Did I ever tell you I hate January?

Ah ha! The plot thickens! She got the soon to be graduating step-daughter a Laptop/Printer/Digital Camera bundle. I have been assigned to teen proof it, (not parental controlls; anti-spyware, anti-virus etc.. I'd say idiot proof, but that would be unkind, she's a sweet kid, but she doesn't understand blonde jokes!). Trust me it needs to be done. "Why are all these strangers sending me email telling me to stop spamming them? I didn't send them anything!" Ahem. Truth be told it was a good choice for a gift. She's off to Europe on a senior trip in January, and mom has about had it with finding AOL installed on her machine every other week ("well if you would'nt leave it in the den running, by the TV, near the phone...." you get the picture!).

14 degrees? Hopefully this year you'll get a lump of coal. You might actually prefer it to gifts. Geez that's cold..........not korea cold, but cold.......

Ouch!

Geez that's cold..........not korea cold, but cold.......

Korea, Wisconsin what's the difference? Remember this is only November, come on up and visit around January. That's when we hit the negative numbers, like wind chills of 20 below zero. There's something about frost forming on your moustache you just have to experience to understand!

I remember Korea well. Only place I ever got sunburned while freezing to death!
